It’s all over the front page...

We were blown away by the response to our Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea take aways, it was massive! In fact it was The Mother Of All Mother’s Days!

We still can’t believe how busy we were with our Mother’s Day afternoon tea orders and would like to thank everyone who ordered, we loved making these (200!) teas for you and your mums and our amazing cafe team smashed it!
So after a busy spell of prepping and baking the food and boxing up, our cafe, which had been turned into a factory-style production line, was a sea of pink ribbons and pretty boxes.
Inside the tier or three boxes were assorted finger sandwiches, chefs hand made savoury treats, assorted cakes and a Somerset cream tea.
There was just enough time for a few photographs before customers started queuing on Princes Street, outside The Emporium, to collect their afternoon tea orders at our front door.
And after a fast paced hour, it was over, all 200 afternoon teas had been collected. The streets of Yeovil seemed to be filled with people carrying our pretty boxes, eager to delight the mums in their family!
The Emporium Cafe has received so much lovely feedback from customers since, it really is lovely to hear!
And then, when we’d just about stopped talking about it, this happened...
We were front page news in the Western Gazette with our Mother’s Day treats! Thank you to one of Somerset’s best newspapers for featuring us!
My goodness! Lockdown has brought many ups and downs, this was certainly one of our best days in the last year.
We’re continuing to supply Afternoon Tea Take-Aways every Friday lunchtime, served from our kitchen door during lockdown and from our cafe counter when we reopen in May.
In addition, we’re taking orders for our special edition teas, the next being our Easter Afternoon Tea, available to collect on Easter Sunday.
