The Emporium celebrates The Queen's Platinum Jubilee in style

Well known in Yeovil for award winning window displays, the team at The Emporium were determined to take their Platinum Jubilee displays to the next level.

After months of planning, designing creating and installing, the finished result is resplendent, an absolute triumph and a fitting tribute to Her Majesty’s 70 year reign! Scenes within the store’s windows depict Buckingham Palace, both outside and inside, their impact stops pedestrians in their tracks. The pinnacle of these displays is the golden throne and the replica of The Queen’s coronation dress and robe, hand made by the talented Amanda Reed, one of the Managers at The Emporium.

‘It’s been an absolute honour to replicate such an important part of history, this stunning dress has been mostly hand sewn and has taken several months of dedicated work and I’ve loved every moment of it!‘ says Amanda.

The entire team, led by Director Dawn Woodward, is so proud of the overall achievement and invites everyone to come and celebrate this once in a lifetime display.

Customers are invited to sit in the throne, take a selfie and tag it on social media with #takearoyalselfie. The winning photo will be announced on June 27th and the prize winner will be given Platinum Jubilee Afternoon Tea for two, served in The Emporium Cafe.
