Love was in the air at The Emporium Cafe
Valentines Day during lockdown was always going to be different; no ‘table for two’ at your favourite little restaurant, but instead ‘let’s celebrate at home!’
No wonder our Valentines Afternoon Tea take-aways were so popular, we were incredibly busy with orders and loved every aspect of creating these romantic treats to be shared at home.
Just like the Afternoon Tea which we have served daily in our cafe so many times, our take-away version is all home cooked by our own chefs.
What’s included in our Afternoon Tea take-away?
We’re very traditional and take the business of afternoon tea really seriously. It has to be done properly; no style over substance here!
So of course there are assorted finger sandwiches, dainty and perfectly prepared. Accompanied by three of our assorted savoury bites, our homemade sausage roll takes some beating along with other savoury delicacies to justify the sheer indulgence that is to follow!
Then the cakes. Those cakes, each made to please the eyes as well as the taste buds. Lemon posset tart, topped with fresh raspberries and blueberries, Persian Love Cake made with pistachios and infused with perfumed rose syrup, with the finale being our show stopping Brownie. Enough said.
Then, yes there’s more... the cream tea. Chefs freshly made scones, classically accompanied by lashings of clotted cream and strawberry jam.
All of this deliciousness is presented in our signature tiered boxes (eco friendly, compostable cardboard) held together with a pretty ribbon. A thing of great beauty, bound to impress... the unboxing experience almost as enjoyable as the tucking in!
